EUAsiaGrid Summer School 2009 (EAGSS09)

- Venue: Conference Room in UPM (Universiti Putra Malaysia), 43400 UPM SERDANG, Selangor Malaysia
- Description: EUAsiaGrid Training including System Administrator Tutorial and Application Porting.
The goal of system administrator tutorial is to train site admins about installation methods/tools for glite and help speed up the set-up of the infrastructure envisage by the EUAsiaGrid project. The plan would be to have site admins prepare at least 4 machines at the home institution that will serve as the UI, CE/WN, MON, DPM.

Second ACGRID School

The second ACGRID school will take place, next September, In Hanoi at Institut de la Francophonie pour l'Informatique. It follows the first ACGRID school which took place at IOIT in November 2007. Its aim is to train students and young researchers from all over Asia to the state of the art of new computing and grid technologies. The ACGRID school will run for two weeks. The first week targets grid users while the second week will target administrators of grid nodes. During the first week, trainees will learn how to use services and functionalities made available on a grid infrastructure, how to deploy scientific applications and how to use workflow engines and portals for a transparent access to the grid resources. During the second week, trainees will learn how to install a User Interface, Computing and Storages Elements, Worker Nodes and a site BDII and how to maintain grid services and have them certified.
